Unboxing My 19″ Monitor
Here's another "Unboxing" video which has become popular not only in my collection but on youtube in general. I have had a 17" CRT - or tube type - monitor for the past 5 years or more. It has served me well but everytime I go to an electronics store, I can't pass up looking at all the new flatscreens. Finally I had to do something about it. At the end of every year, all the stores have special sales to clear out their inventory. I watched the internet and read the local newspapers to see what they offered. Finally I found a great deal and decided to go for it! I'll briefly show you my old 17" monitor and will unbox the new 19" flatscreen. Wow - what a difference. I hope you'll enjoy this latest "Unboxing" video. Taped: December 5, 2008

Nice unboxing! lol “SVA?? Who ever heard of that?” lol hilarious
Thanks for the info. I saw one on Ray Glasser’s videos.
A router of sorts…its an electrical AC box where I plug all things (monitor, CPU, printer, speakers etc) in the back and with a Master Switch, can turn things On & Off indiviually or all at once. I think I’ve had it for 20 years!
Is that a router underneath the monitors? It seems to be in a lot of American videos. Thanks.
i also have acer… but not hd
its 1680×1050
i got a 23″ acer 1920 x 1080 res
1080p FULL HD
hdmi, dvi and vga
=]
Right! And it doesn’t weigh as much as one either!
This one isn’t like a giant suitcase then Kerry?
Numpty1972, you are actually quite wrong the LCD screen is still in very early stages the CRT has better response time better contrast and they are a lot brighter, i has two crt 20″ monitors for gaming and the a 22″ monitor for my normal work computer, only because it takes up less space.
Also the CRT has an all round viewing angle
the lcd can only be seen from infront (clearly and bright)
But yes in a few years the crt will be gone as lcd is in early stages
You are funny nice. :O)
Nice. I am getting my new LCD form Best Buy today
So is your spelling.
monitor sow ugly…
I was getting a tad worried about that plastic not being taken off the screen. LOL You snagged a good deal.
Also flat screens use less electricity than CRTs, cost less to transport, as well as using far less space. I think the CRT is going the way of the floppy drive. Excellent video as always. Thanks.
Great video and you got a GREAT deal Kerry!
Great video. Like one of your other viewers stated, you make anything sound awesome. Great Job !!!!
Thanks John. Being in “sales” in one form or another all my life hasn’t hurt either.
Well Kerry, you make anything look good. You have a talent for making things almost seem tasty. I remember not too long ago a monitor such as this would have cost several hundred dollars. I wish you and all your 19 inches well
WacoAgents- now in Tn
Never heard of SVA. Mine’s an Albatron. Never heard of that either. That’s my first LCD monitor, which I have since about 2003 and it works fine today. The one I used to have is now being used by my dad. It’s an HP M70 17″ CRT monitor. Since he wanted to get a 17″ monitor, I told him that I wanted to get an LCD monitor. So, I got the Albatron 17″ for about $320. It was the lowest price for that size LCD monitor at the time. Like your SVA, it has tiny speakers (hardly used for sound).
Good Video!
Thanks for sharing. As usual, your posts are gr8 !!
Almost. Its an HP Pavilion a710n. I have had it for a few years now and has served me very well. (I’ve updated the motherboard and hard drive.)
is that an HP pavilion a735w I see ? That’s what my daily user is. I just use the vx74 monitor that came with it.
I wish my machine was capable of showing the high definition video from my Kodak Zi6 camera that I got for Christmas.
good unboxing again thanks for sharing
