Filmed a few Months ago. For those who asked for a live TV smash - there is no obvious difference in smashing a live TV vs a dead one! this was one of the first appearances of the diesel engine flywheel, now known as "Daihatsu Dominator"

@Aussie50 Epic
funny too
@hdyudu yeah thats all Hollywood bullshit!, I knew it wouldn’t go boom like in the movies, but it was fun
Aussie, I forgot to say I really miss that crappy audio, I had grown to love it as it was such a signature of your uploads. Hearing your voice clear and crisp has me it tube shock.
ah, the glory of a road side find, I love the old computer and the memories come flooding back of a time when windoze was a far simpler beast.
but not as simple as a flywheel, loved it
some people think a shower of sparks and flames shoot out of it like you see in the movies when that happens but thats not ture all thare is loud pop or bang sins the tube is under pressure along with dust and some peices of glass and thats it thare nothing in CRTS that is combustible or holds enuff high voltage current to make an electric arc that big
@Knaeckebrotsaege one was drowned, dunno if it powers up at all, one (17″ viewsonic) has no backlight and the data cable was cut off. likewise the panel is scratched to shit.
not worth repair IMO.
@Veikra lol yeah, v8jagnut clipped it and made it his Windows load sound
@Aleksa809 lol I’d say it jsut shit itself. prolly a standby LED signal.
you can see one spark if you go frame by frame, near the neck board.
@Aussie50 damn well better!
Notice that the monitor led starts flashing when you smash the screen. I wonder why is that,did it detect the crt missing/not working and was trying to display a fault? Or it just had a shit….
@Aussie50 whats wrong with it? if the backlight keeps turning off, replace all caps on the powersupply and inverter board. if the panel is stuffed (lines on the screen or cracked) i don’t care.. but if the LCD panel is OK, i’d always try to fix it first. most LCDs i’ve come across only had probs with crappy caps.
got a 24″ FullHD Samsung LCD lately for 20bucks.. all that was wrong with it were bad “Sam Young” caps (visually fine, but high ESR)
@cheetawolf wait till I run over a working (faulty) LCD with the range rover
@BOBKB3NZX Dealing out justice, one flywheel at a time
0:59 over and over again. I like the sound of that.
@Aussie50
I guess youtube crapped out and didnt post my comment. Giving it another go.
Thanks for the heads up on that stuff safety wise.
@Aussie50
Thanks for the heads up.
@Aussie50
Thanks for the heads up.
Lol. The famous flywheel. Love it.
@jazzy4me4eva lol it did implode
very instantaneously
well that was dissapointing lloll wanted imposion
AHAHHAHAHAHAHH Flywheel FTW!!!!
thanks ed! the FW is awesome, and love the name!
@toxicproductions100 nah, never use that stuff.
@Aussie50 hey ed do you have a facebook acount?
@theavailablenamessuk cool!, just be very careful when cutting the metal band around the CRT, I was wearing a leather apron, welders gloves (full length) and full face shield.
you don’t want one popping in your face with no PPE on.
