no since cell phones came out cb channels are not part of a different radio service
19 & 9
channel 9 i emergency channel19 is n open one to contact henc 19 however
no, they are too busy. The fcc is suppose to be monitoring those frequencies.
Years ago, police and REACT did monitor channel 9. I think some police do have CBs in their cars, but not very many. CB is the 70s version of what cell phones are today.
In general, the coast guard doesn’t monitor CB Radio. This is because boaters have their own ship-to-shore VHF Radios. The coast monitors Channel 16 and 22 on their VHF Radio…156.800 and 157.100…
Have fun.
Sorry about this non-answer, but… use your local phone book to call these three NON-emergency numbers and ask them your very good question, the Sheriff, the city Police, and the State Patrol. I’m gonna do the same thing here in Atlanta. Cell phones are great for this but the CB reaches all people who may be monitoring and CB reaches a small area. It’s another way to broadcast to all nearby channel 9 listeners. It can’t hurt to have a CB and use it! CB has a big following on interstate corridors.
