I just love this no nonsense Acer 19inch widescreen monitor. It was easy to set up and the picture is crisp. I did have to adjust the clarity to my liking, again this was simple with the buttons right on the front. I have external speakers on my computer so the fact that this monitor has no speakers suits me fine. I am not a gamer, but rather do a lot of word processing and surfing. All in all, the price is great, the warranty is for three years, the screen is crisp and bright, all the ingredients for one happy camper! I, with clear conscience, recommend this monitor!
My husband and I picked up two of these for ourselves for Christmas. Being gamers, our puny 15 inch “box” monitors just weren’t cutting it anymore and we decided to spoil each other. The set up for both monitors took less than 10 minutes and was a breeze. The display is big, bright and crisp. It comes pre-programmed with several options for lighting, including one for text, graphics, video and more. When surfing, we switch to the text setting which dims the monitor enough to be easy on your eyes while reading. For gaming, it’s a quick switch back to graphics for a bright, crisp picture that makes our game time that much more enjoyable. We don’t watch videos on our computers, but we did pop in a DVD and switched to the video mode and it, too, was gorgeous.
I simply can’t say enough about this monitor. For the price, it is well under other well known manufacturers in price but in no way sacrifices quality. I’d give it 10 stars if I could! For computer/gaming fanatics, you can’t go wrong with this monitor!
THis one has VGA input only. I have the X193W+BD that has both VGA and DVI. The X193W+BD also has 1680×1050 resolution that can’t be beat in a 19″ widescreen. This X193WB is 1440×900 max. I paid only $20 more with free shipping. Either way, the Acer LCD is a very good product. I have an older AL1912 std screen that is 5+ yrs old and still works and looks like new. The power consumption of the new Acer LCDs also seemed to be at the low end compared to other products.
digital movies are shown in a set aspect ratio. If the aspect ratio (height x width) of the movie is different than the monitor you get black areas at the top and bottom or sides. This also happens on HDTVs There is nothing wrong with your equipment.

You can make panaramas with any digital camera, take multiple shots of the landscape keeping the camer level and overlapping each frame by at least 30%. Bring the files into the computer and put them in one folder. Then go into Adobe Photoshop. Go to File>Automate>photomerge (I'm not sure which versions have this feature, I know CS and beyond have it) Select the folder with your photos and hit ok. It should merge it into a panarama for you. You might have to edit some to make it look completely seamless but it works.

yeah, i can agree to OLED but once that certain LED dies, you cant fix it but i believe OLED works differently than what a regular LED does and is almost more like plasma but without the doping and other flaws. id love DMD/DLP tv sets as they have to be the most simplest out of all tv’s ever made

E Recovery did not work & Alt + f10 did not work ether, to find Erecovery was not installed , Acer Aspire one aoa110 because it turned into a Brick useless.I erased the partition & installed Windows Xp Professional. then I went to Acers Website & downloaded all the Hard drives to a Disc form another computer , then Installed them, it gave me a bunch of issues of freezing up. ( Any Ideas ))))????????

you should check your hard drive, maybe it is starting to fail. If so rebooting won't help. Google for "check hdd smart attributes" to see how healthy your hard drive is.
Also when it is running slow open task manager and see, maybe there is one particular program which eats up all CPU/memory.
Check you computer for viruses. Yeah, maybe start with it and then do other stuff
Go to Start -> Run -> cmd, type chkdsk c: /R and let it scan the disk for bad sectors.

You didn’t think ASUS would let Acer be the only one with a next-generation Ion netbook, did you? While wandering around ASUS’s CeBIT booth we couldn’t help but notice some new Ion 2 systems, including the 12.1-inch Eee PC 1201PN. With an identical chassis to the 1201N that we reviewed a few months back, the 1201PN swaps out the Diamondville Atom for a new Pine Trail N450 processor and a discrete NVIDIA GPU. We couldn’t figure out much more from the system properties, but the neighboring sign confirmed that Ion 2 would use NVIDIA’s Optimus to switch between the discrete and integrated GPU. Around the corner we also stumbled into that Eee Top 2010PNT we heard about awhile back, and just as rumored it packs a dual-core Atom D510 processor along its “next generation Ion.” Really more than anything we’re looking forward to testing the HD performance and battery life of these new Ion systems, but until then we’ll be stuck watching the video below of the 1201PN playing a 720p promo clip….

Widescreen DVD's are not for large TV's, but for widescreen TV's, such as HDTV's that are rectangular. I have a 10" portable widescreen DVD player that looks great with widescreen. Most movies come in widescreen and standard format either on different DVD's or on different sides of the DVD.
I would agree widescreen is a pain when it comes to watching them on a regular 4:3 television because the picture is so small. The fact they are recorded in widescreen, it's costly for the movie companies to create two different formats. When the movies are small enough, they can fit both formats on one DVD.
As widescreen TV's become status quo, you will see all movies come out in standard. Since about 25% of the TV's in an electronic store are standard, you better start saving up for a widescreen or learn to tolerate the widescreen on your square tv.
