This video shows how to disassemble, repair and reassemble a Dell 1907FPVt monitor with blown capacitors C824 and C825. More information can be found at: mlinton.com This tutorial is done in real time so that you can see some of the frustrations you might expect with this repair. Look I have a similar model and I made the big mistake of spraying directly windex and at the bottom of the screen somehow some of the windex got inside and there is some kind gray stains on the other side of the trasparent cover (glass) do you have any suggestions for me.
good information
Good information!
@SpikesScarletWitch I’m glad that the video helped you get the monitor apart! As for your problem, I have heard that another part of the inverter board (same board that has the cap problem) can go bad. I have not looked at these on ebay, but did read on line that some people had success replacing the board completely.
Another possibility, is that the caps are dieing, but have not yet failed completely. It may be worth your time to replace them and see if that fixes the problem.
hello,
now i have an issue. all the cap’s look ok, no bulging or leaky fluid. the issue with this monitor was that it would be on 1/2 hour & then just shut off. no power lights. so, cap’s visually look ok. as for when i tested it right after i received it, it came on for 30 sec & jsut shut off. any help would be greatly appreciated. cause i tell ya right now i can’t afford a new monitor. *sigh* was hoping it was the caps.
YOUare a GOD!! for 2 days i have been searching exactly how to remove the faceplate off this 19 lcd flatpanel monitor (dell se198wfp) someone gave me. i pretty much know whats wrong with it an how to fix it but getting the faceplate off without tearing it up was vastly getting on my last nerve… YOU have shown me how to do it the right way! TY! TY! TY!
